Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed received at his office today, Dr. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission and Ms. Jutta Urpilainen, European Commissioner for International Partnerships. President Ursula expressed her joy in making Ethiopia her first destination after assuming her post and affirmed that the cooperation between the Commission and Ethiopia will continue. In addition, she congratulated Prime Minister Abiy for his recent Nobel Peace Prize recognition.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed presided over the signing of four agreements between Ethiopia and the European Commission worth €170 mil. Mr. Ahmed Shide, F.D.R.E’s Minister of Finance and the European Commissioner for International Partnerships Ms. Jutta Urpilainen signed the financing agreements in support of political and economic reforms.
