Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed held discussions today June 20, 2019, with around 400 leaders of Protestant Churches

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, in his discussion with around 400 leaders of Protestant Churches provided direction on national issues and other relevant topics the religious leaders raised. Today’s conversation is similar to those held in Addis Ababa and in various parts of the country with community members, teachers, religious leaders, health professionals, artists and the justice sector professionals among others.

Concluding the discussion, a committee of 15 members was formed to strengthen the unity between the church and the laity and come up with solutions for internal challenges.

In the past, similar dialogues between the two synods of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and Committee for the solution of Ethiopian Muslim Affairs successfully created a peaceful resolution of issues, and spirit of togetherness.
