Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, commercial model and actress Delina Cleo, also known as Delina Ghezu, has quickly gained a remarkable reputation within the talent and entertainment industry. Since the tender age of 19, Delina has transformed her passions of modeling and acting into a full-fledged career.
Known for being a highly sought-after model for television adverts and print campaigns, many companies have approached Delina to promote their products. Top international cosmetic brands such as L’Oreal UK and Pond’s Flawless (South Africa and Asia) have used Delina to model their makeup lines, while BareMinerals continues to use Delina on a regular basis on QVC. Delina was also featured in a special BBC One teaser promo. Several popular publications have showcased the Ethiopian beauty gracing their pages including Cosmopolitan Magazine, Glamour Magazine, and Black Beauty Magazine, just to name a few. Delina has also been featured in several commercial adverts including the Vodafone worldwide campaign and a T-Mobile campaign. Appearing alongside popular pop/rock singer Katy Perry and soccer legend David Beckham in March of 2011, Delina was featured in the “Adidas Is All In” campaign which helped to promote Adidas as a diverse brand throughout many cultures and professions.
In December of 2007, the 5-foot-7-inch model was approached about a casting opportunity to appear as the “IPod Girl”. Since that time, Delina has modeled for various products made by Apple. After successfully meeting with top model agents and clients, Delina would go on to book her very first casting. Eventually, this would lead to Delina signing with her first mother agency, modeling part-time while attending the University of East London.
A Media Studies graduate of the university of East London, Delina always had a fascination of the film industry, while having a passion for photography. Whether it was writing scripts, or making and producing films, Delina always had a strong desire to use her educational background to further enhance and excel her passion. While attending the university, Delina completed a three-month internship with BBC Media Action, previously known as BBC World Service Trust. During her internship, Delina gained many good contacts while working closely with correspondents in Africa and regional directors. Through the internship, Delina gained experience in the field while using her strong expertise in communications and media to help in spreading the importance of poverty reduction and improving health across the world.
Due to her overwhelming commitment and hard-work ethics, Delina was encouraged to continue working with BBC Media Action; however, as her modeling career began to demand more of her time, Delina had to politely exit the program.
